Employment and Labor Law
The firm counsels and represents both employers and
employees in a wide variety of employment and labor law
matters. Our practice includes litigation, counseling,
and representation before state and federal
administrative agencies and in both California and
United States Courts.
The firm's primary goal as respects employer
representation is to provides clients with the necessary
information, resources and counseling to avoid
employment claims before they arise. Our priority is to
know our clients' business needs through active
listening and communication and to respond to those
needs in a timely fashion. In regard to employees, the
firm strives to ensure that clients understand their
rights and obligations in the rapidly changing (and
always uncertain) employment market and stands ready and
able to represent and defend their interests when
necessary. The firm provides counseling and litigation
related services in the following areas:
• Wage-hour compliance counseling and enforcement
proceedings
• Trade secret misappropriation, employee raiding, and
unfair competition matters
• Defense of wage-and-hour and other lawsuits
• Defense of wrongful termination and employment
discrimination lawsuits
• Counseling employers on employee leaves of absence,
discipline and discharge issues
• Advising employers on emerging employment issues such
as disability law compliance, workplace privacy,
workplace violence, and drug and alcohol usage in the
workplace
• Development, revision and updating of personnel policy
and procedures development and counseling (including
sexual harassment training of California supervisors)
• Alternative dispute resolution, including employment
dispute arbitrations and mediations |
